The Immortal Blackbirds formed in 2018 around the concept album Castle of Green, the mythical birthplace of Frederik Petzoldt’s songs, weaving musical tales of talking trees, dancing dragonflies, lonely warriors, and hidden sirens into an immersive, dreamlike world. With Maaike Reynaert’s warm voice and melodic bass grounding the project—and more members joining over time—the band found its full shape and went on to enchant audiences at festivals and venues across the Netherlands and Scotland. Their sound blends folk rock, blues, late-’60s psychedelia, and a touch of roots reggae into a vibrant, atmospheric experience where every song feels unique and every concert like an unforgettable adventure.
